Norfolk Photography Collection
As I now live in Norfolk it makes sense that many of my newer images will be of Norfolk. Especially as Norfolk is a popular holiday destination with stunning coastline, historic architecture, and quaint towns and villages. Situated on the East Coast of England known as East Anglia, Norfolk is in a unique position of having a very long curved coast with a mixture of sand and stone beaches. Norfolk is quite a low lying county generally and does suffer from coastal erosion but it also has beautiful fenlands and wetlands with a wealth of bird species.
Where I live in the UK the season of spring is the start of natures burst of colour and growth after a cold, damp and probably a flat grey coloured winter. Nature goes from brown and dead looking to a multicoloured and leafy beauty, every year.
Spring is nature waking up ready to start the whole cycle again of growth, pollination, regeneration, becoming food for insects and animals, its a miracle really. It never gets boring discovering new places and revisiting old ones.
Winter Photography Collection
We don't get too much snow so when we do we like to make the most of it. Snow turns many of us Brits into kids again, including me, I love it! Some of these landscape photographs were from the 'Beast From The East' snow blizzards in 2018. With the wind chill it was about -12 degrees. It was really cold but I had enough correct layers on to stay toasty warm outside. Most of these images are generally landscape and wildlife photographs. The bird photos took many hours over several days to capture exactly what I was after.
Autumn is one of the best seasons in the UK for landscape photography. The sun isn't as strong as summer, the light is warmer and lower for longer. Sunrise is that little bit later (for those not keen on super early mornings). Best of all nature has its last explosion of colour for us to see before going to sleep for the winter. It's the season with the shortest window of opportunity, colours fade quickly, weather is more variable and unpredictable, Skies a more interesting with more clouds and colours too. If you can time and plan your trips well, you will be rewarded with possibly some of the best photographic opportunities of the year.
