Product photography looks easy but I'd say it's definitely one of the harder types of photography to get right, especially as the photographers idea of a great shot isn't always the clients idea. So it's good to get as many ideas nailed down first before some sample shots.
Most important things to decide with these were...
Getting a consistent angle, too high and the product label wouldn't be obvious, too low and you lose the shape and size of the products.
Making sure the company logo and label info is readable at different sized images.
Getting the lighting right so the whites were not blown out but getting the background pure white or white enough, depending on the layout. If a product is photographed on pure white, it won't have a border on a white webpage, so a light grey can help to add variety and create a solid shaped image.
Focus sounds obvious but with such small items you need to consider how much depth in the image will be in focus.
Once all considered be able to reproduce the style and look of the product photography so its consistent across the range.
